Knowing your numbers or your vital stats is a great way to keep track of how you’re doing health wise
You can buy body scan scales relatively cheaply which as well as doing your weight will may measure your:
- Fat %
- Muscle mass %
- Hydration %
- Daily calorie intake
- Metabolic age (your fitness age)
- Bone density
- Visceral fat (the fat that surrounds your organs – which increases risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart disease)
How often should you do this?
Entirely up to you – weekly or monthly.
It’s a great way of spotting an upward trend in any of the stats enabling you to take action if necessary. Also make sure you get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked regularly.
